Glory Reins Riding School

My experience riding at this school has been AMAZING. I came in being a complete beginner, and in my late 30s. Dede made me feel safe and comfortable. Many riding schools are catered towards kids only, and I was nervous to start. After a few months of lessons, I am now VERY comfortable grooming and tacking. And started to get the hang of posting a trot! My lesson with Dede has become my favorite part of the week. Less than an hour outside of LA, and it's my weekly breath of fresh country air. Strongly recommend this please to beginner kids and adults alike! Would be great for adult/child lessons together!

We love Glory Reins as this was where my daughter first rode a horse. Dede is very attentive and not only teaches the students to ride but also work on character building for the student. There are also lots of opportunities for volunteer work. Per my daughter, she teaches great fundamentals in riding (e.g. posting, trot, and great form was taught). Dede is firm and nice and taught well.

I love it here at Glory Reins. If you have a love of horses and want to learn to ride with a good foundation, this is the place. No experience necessary, as I did not know a thing about riding horses. All of the trainers have taken their time to teach me how to properly handle a horse. Dede, MaryPat, and Mickey are all wonderful trainers. They are very patient and willing to work with you.

Best place to learn real techniques

The place itself is great and the horses are taken care of. But the staff needs to work on their social skills. We had an accident here, coming into the school’s gate, which was open, the gate closed into our car. I️ had two of my kids sitting at the back (3 y.o and a 10 month old) completely shocked and scared. The car was brutally damaged, with the repairs going for 3 weeks now. Which means we have to rent a different car for the duration of the repairs and pay for it ourselves. My husband spoke of the matter with his insurance and we asked the insurance not to send the bill for our repairs to the school as we felt bad for them because they are a non-profit school. Imagine my shock when the owner of the place casually sends me a message that she will give me the bill for the gate repairs. She said it was broken from hitting it. Then she goes on to tell me she didnt see our damaged car, which she of course did right when we met. Not even acknowledging the fact that my 10 month old was sitting at the side of the car where the gate hit us!! Which could be a law suit if we wished to proceed with it. They told me the repairs guy checked the sensors of the gate and they worked fine. From what I️ see those "working" gates completely smashed our car. And then they tried to blame us, trying to use our kindness. We also provided some cookies for their charity event and not once did I️ hear "thank you" or even "hello" when communicating with the owner of this place. So they do take their riders for granted I️ should say. To me this is an indication of bad manners and unprofessional handling of the situation.
