Foxfield Riding School

So far so good 🙂 I ride private lessons with Katie and have done a group lesson. I have been learning a lot and I love the grounds - they’re so peaceful. I hope to have my own horse there soon!

So far the best place I have taken lessons at horses are well cared for, loved, and appreciated by all the riders at Foxfield and the crowd. Lessons are reasonably priced. 40 dollars for a group lesson, 75 for a private lesson. Their summer camp is so fun, a little on the pricey side but well worth the money. All of the trainers are so experienced. Family run business and very fun place to be!

One of my fondest childhood memories, is taking lessons here on my old buddy Bonaparte! Best times and learned a skill that I still use 54 years later. Wish I had photos to share.

Beautiful facility, lovely staff…my eldest daughter rides out here whenever we are in town visiting family. They offer an excellent camp

Foxfield is a very special place. They have excellent trainers here and really make you feel like you are part of a family. My daughter has flourished since she started riding here. Her confidence has improved and she loves the responsibility of leases her own horse. I would highly recommend Foxfield riding school

Instruction is of the highest quality, horses are well schooled and kind, and the atmosphere is family oriented. A family run business with traditional values and a wonderful place for kids. The lessons are an hour long and a great value. The facilities are absolutely beautiful. Will come back here again and again!

We had a disappointing experience with the summer camp. My daughter spent two weeks at the school’s summer camp. When we came to pick her up, after having no communication with her for two weeks, she was unhappy and in tears. I had to make multiple inquiries in order to find her assigned counselor who, when asked, said my daughter had a difficult time, cried a lot and did not make any real friends. The counselor apologized for not being more helpful. It is my understanding that the counselor was only 18 yrs old, and I can only assume she did not have the experience or presence of mind to reach out to more, experienced professionals on the staff. My daughter has attended many day and overnight summer camps over the years, and has never complained about a camp counselor until this camp. Through tears, she said her counselor was mean, and could not understand why. As for the skills development aspect of the camp, we were not provided feedback from the staff, and were never introduced to the trainers. The camp holds a show on the last day for family and friends. I was excited to see my daughter ride and curious about whether I would see any improvement. Unfortunately, my primary takeaway was that she was placed in a group with lower level riders. My daughter has been riding twice a week for two years and regularly jumps two feet. She was put in a beginner group of 8 girls, two of which had never jumped before. With a trainer-to-student ratio of 8 to 1, my daughter also received much less feedback than she receives at her barn, where they have a trainer-to-student ratio of 4 to 1.
