I'm so impressed with this clinic. They were able to get me in the very next morning. I appreciated the cleanliness and kindness of staff. Vet was very thorough. I am especially pleased with their portal. Usually portals are SO fussy and this one is great! Also their communication is OFF THE HOOK! Very appreciated, as I didn't just feel like a number! I've found my vet home for when I'm in Nor Cal!

I have taken my dog to Modern Animal since I adopted him two years ago...And I followed them to the Berkeley location when the Mill Valley location closed. The staff, vet techs, and provider, Dr. Sindell, have all been very welcoming, patient, and kind. My dog gets nervous and they have never been anything but patient and supportive (with my dog and with me). I have no point of reference for relative costs, but so far, I feel everything has been fair and I am very happy with the services we have received to date.

I had to get lab work done and a bunch of other concerns me everything is a great flat rate which are on the website. From the entry to being in a personal room, it’s just like going to the doctors for humans you get to talk to a nurse, And then talk to the doctor. They don’t upsell you on anything and we’re very open to hearing my concerns and very open all together for Charley. Absolutely amazing experience, They did everything in the signed private room with me in there and was a great experience for Charley. I highly recommend this place. I had enjoyed my first experience there and already got my mom to book an appointment with our other pup. It provides a peace of mind, knowing there’s no extreme costs and it makes it stress free for me and for Charley the nurses are absolutely great with animals. 💙 Blair was our main nurse & Wayne was our veterinarian.

I’ve been searching for a veterinary clinic like this for a long time, and I’m truly grateful we found Modern Animal. The entire staff is professional, kind, and welcoming—qualities that make such a difference in the level of care. The veterinarian was exceptional: patient, caring, and thorough. He explained everything clearly and took the time to answer all of my questions. He also shared great tips for cleaning my dog’s teeth and recommended the dental care I had been looking for. Some people might find the prices a bit high, but for me it was absolutely worth it. The quality of service, the advanced equipment, and the cleanliness of the clinic speak for themselves. They even accommodated us quickly for a health certificate appointment we needed for travel, and helped make the whole process possible. I love this place and highly recommend it to everyone. I will definitely be coming back.

We've had a great experience with Modern Animal Berkeley. I like being able to chat with vets, and it's easy to manage our pets care, all through the app. With the subscription, you get free and discounted services. All around, very satisfied.

Been here multiple times (Walnut Creek too) for our lovely 12 year old cat who has too many health issues to list here. The upshot: I've worked with several doctors here and vet techs and they have all been great - kind, very helpful, and work as thought partners to solve the problems and not put our cat through too many tests and such. Two additional things I like a lot about Modern Animal: 1) they are REALLY good about communicating off hours through app, messaging us back clearly when we are trying to figure out a medicine issue or when to come in (this is part of a paid plan only I believe, which is a bit of a bummer, but worth it if your pet has health issues!) 2) the pricing is clear and there are no surprises. Unlike other vets in the area, they will tell you the cost and think through the options BEFORE they do the test/intervention. They have always been upfront with us, which is a major deal in my opinion (for some reason other vets in the area do not seem to understand this). OK - third thing - I also like the environment. Clean, and yes modern, and doesn't smell/look like someone's living room from 1989. The one downside: it is not the cheapest place, especially if you get the yearly plan that allows visits and messages. But again, if your pet has problems it is probably worth it.

I've had a really positive experience with Modern Animal at this location for all three of my furry family members. That includes routine, but also some non-routine and even scary stuff and surgeries. Everyone is always really friendly and helpful and I feel like my cats and dog are in good hands here.
