U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer

The gentleman at this location wasn't able to get into the system on Saturday morning BUT he was willing and able to help me use the U-Haul app to complete the check in process and secure keys to the truck. He was great to work with and I wish I had gotten his name. I highly recommend the location on Ogeechee Rd in Savannah. However, the location on Gateway Blvd in Savannah was HORRIBLE. Her response to the system being down was to simply decline to help us at all and told us to "find another location". Terrible representative for U-Haul! IF you're in Savannah, use the location on Ogeechee and avoid the location on Gateway Blvd.

This storage location was absolutely horrendous to deal with. They were quite difficult in terms of getting my u boxes delivered. They received them back empty over a month and a half ago yet were still trying to charge me every day and sending "rent late" text messages and emails every single day. I called them, went in there, contacted customer service and each time was told it would be resolved and yet it never was. I attempted to call the GM who never responded, I attempted to email him to which I just got another generic "late rent" email. It was an absolutely miserable and inconvenient experience that was basically fraud on their part. That location is incredibly sketchy as they gave another customer a truck that broke down 1 stop light away right after receiving it to which they tried telling him there was nothing they could do and he would just have to deal with it. I witnessed multiple other poor customer interactions on their part as well. The general manager is absolutely horrible at his job and it shows in his employees. It is apparent he only knows how to cut corners and make false statements, as well as supplying customers with faulty equipment.

They overcharged me for a one way trip. We checked the truck before driving off but didn’t think to look in the glove compartment. We open it the same night and there is open containers of alcohol so that could have been bad because I am military. Second issue the truck had RECAP tires with knots inside them and blew out before we could even get to our destination. It took roadside 2 hours to get there all this causing me to be late to report. Third issue we were BIT by ants the whole drive. I have called over 10 times and keep getting disconnected or lies saying they called me back but I have my call log printed from my carrier. Uhaul is being very unprofessional and this dealer needs to be SHUTDOWN!

This location just doesn't care. First the guy at the counter was very nonchalant and didn't seem to want to be at work. There was no reason for a reservation because even if you reserve equipment they will give it away. We drove hundreds of miles to the Ogeechee location and called prior to coming into the uhaul location and they confirmed the equipment was there. However, upon arriving we were told the equipment wasn't there and they could send us to abercorn. We'll it seems they didn't do alot at the Ogeechee location because Abercorn had to do their job for them. This location is terrible and their customer service sucks too. Franke the manager was busy being busy doing nothing and didn't seem tonreally care about his crew or customers. All good but this location will not be in business much longer.

The most unorganized business in Savannah. On Friday, my boyfriend and I made a reservation in-store to get a pickup and trailer at 2pm on Saturday. After the terrible process of trying to reserve, I decided to make sure to get there early on Saturday because of how unorganized this place was that day. We got there at1:15 on Saturday just for them to tell us they had no pickups or trailers available and that our pickup location was moved. We were never notified of the change. The lady informed me that we had to go to the other location to pick it up. However, 5 minutes into leaving Ogeechee, we checked to realize that the other location had closed at 1pm causing us to go back go Ogeechee. There, they claimed they had no pickups available so we had to get a pickup from the Abercorn location ourselves and come back to Ogeechee to get the trailer. We received no reimbursement for having to travel between nearly THREE different U-hauls to get our equipment. This location tarnished the U-haul brand. Close this location down all together!

Poor gas policy I’d like to first start by saying the staff and service at this location were pleasant and orderly. This review is to point out that UHaul’s gas policy is broken. We were told to "fill up" our UHaul upon returning from our trip, even though the gas meter read 3/4 tank. In following directions after our 15 mile trip, we filled up the tank for $40. When we returned the UHaul we were then told we only had to fill to the 3/4 line since that’s what our van began at, and there was no process of reimbursement for the fuel we gave UHaul. What should’ve been a $6 trip turned into $40 and there was no process to aid in reimbursement. UHauls gas policy appears to be built completely for the gain of the company with no forethought on behalf of the customer. Extremely disappointing to find out customer satisfaction is given such a low priority given the size of the company. Please learn from me and remember to not fill up more gas than you started with (don’t just listen to the clerk telling you to "fill up" before you come back).
