I was introduced to this brand almost 3 years ago and it has been incredible to watch the journey of this company grow. They built two custom saddles for my daughter and the leather is such a high quality, and the design is elegant. She LOVES her saddles! Both experiences were pleasant and the turn around was FAST. I have dealt with other high end saddle brands for myself and never have a had such an amazing experience as I did with Arion. I recommend them to everyone.

Let’s talk about my experience with Arion Saddles. I ordered a full custom Arion Monoflap in December 2023 and received the saddle on May 15th, 2025. My experience with the fitting itself felt superb at the time. The rep used chalk to map out the way the saddle should fit my draft/quarter horse cross, Nifty, and walked me through her thought process. I rode in a dressage saddle and a jumping saddle and loved both of them. I had very high hopes for my new saddle. Those hopes were very much in vain. The fitter, who has since stopped working for the company, came out and did a very cursory fit-check a few days after the saddle came in. According to her, everything fit the way it was supposed to. I am not a saddle fitter. Not even close. However, I do enjoy educating myself on saddle fit and engaging in discussions on Facebook groups. After a few weeks of riding in the saddle, it became clear that something wasn’t quite right. My balance was off while riding, and the sweat marks left large dry patches behind and under Nifty’s withers. Upon closer examination, I came to the conclusion that the saddle was too wide. Of course, it’s always more complicated than a diagnosis such as "too wide," but on my own, that was the best I had. On August 30th, I posted on the Saddle Fitting Questions and Answers Facebook group with pictures of the saddle on Nifty, sweat marks, and conformation photos. Fitters on there confirmed- something isn’t right. On September 3rd, 2024, I messaged Kristin Elizabeth, who I believe is the sales manager and who was involved in the original sale of my saddle, requesting that someone come look at the saddle. She responded quickly, promising to send out a rep as soon as possible. After that, crickets. I messaged again on the 5th, the 10th, and then again on October 16th. Finally, I received a response on October 18th, saying that she had a horse traumatically pass away and had been out of the loop. Understandable. I moved on. She requested my phone number to give to the rep, which I gave to her, and then, once again, crickets. Frustrated, I took matters into my own hands and asked for the rep’s number, and surprisingly actually received it. Long story short, the rep (a different rep than the one who fitted my saddle) came out and confirmed that the fit was poor. We sent the saddle back to them with notes on how to adjust the fit in December 2024. The saddle was returned to me in early March of 2025. It should have fit. It really, really should have fit. But it didn’t. Once again, I posted to Saddle Fitting Questions and Answers, wanting to confirm my suspicions- still too wide. And, once again, a resounding "yep" from the fitters on that site. I was correct. My trainer at the time took one look at it and told me it was too low in the withers. Hilariously, Kristin commented on my post, saying she would reach out to me to have this resolved, or at least have a rep check the fit. Desperate for some resolution on this $8,000 saddle that I can’t use, I contacted Kristin again. She was my only resource since Arion didn’t (and still doesn’t) have a Southern California rep. I messaged her on March 29th, asking if her offer still stood. She left me on read. I messaged again on April 8th. This time, not even a read receipt. Nothing. So, where does this leave me? I’m a 19 year old working student doing my best financially. I worked my ass off for a solid year to save for this purchase. I am out 8k, and I have a saddle that I can’t in good conscience use on my horse. I’m sad and angry. I feel as though I’ve been scammed. I am not the only one who has had this experience. Others have been through similar things. However, I have receipts. I have screenshots and pictures of my horse and dates. So, I write this as a warning to all other potential buyers. Arion does not stand behind their products. Arion does not care about their customers. They will try to rope you in with knowledgeable sounding terms and friendly promises. Don’t let them. Don’t purchase from this company. Learn from my experience.
