Emporium Antiques of Olde Towne Gaithersburg

Sign said open but door was locked. The guy working at the shop next door had to bang on the door for the lady to unlock the door. When we went in, I picked out some CD's and asked if she can do better on the prices. She could have just politely said that she is not allowed to or something of the sort. Instead, she very angrily told me that if I don't like the prices, I don't have to buy. I put down the pile of CD's that I was going to buy and left. As I was leaving, I told her that 1-she should have negotiated or had a better attitude, instead she lost the entire sale (I know, a few CD's, woooow, right?), and 2-if you have that attitude with all of your customers, you won't stay in business long. What a nasty, nasty lady.

Stopped by on a whim and ended up getting something absolutely amazing. So first off there’s technically 2 stores that I’m not sure if they’re connected in some way but they seemingly share a google maps point so I’m gonna mention both. The one on the left is really interesting and has lots of neat stuff if a bit disorganized in some areas. However the one on the right is insanely well organized, the owner is very friendly and talkative, telling all kinds of interesting stories and there’s so much interesting and cool stuff for sale here, Including some things I haven’t seen before or at least haven’t seen in years. Such as a set of Trendmasters Tarzan figures, which were pretty neat to see after all these years and a Kenner Beetlejuice Creepy Cruiser car that, despite being a line I don’t collect, and despite being pricey I absolutely had to buy because it was so cool and in great condition! 10/10 I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you happen to be in the area.

Amazing selection, super fair prices, ticked all my boxes when it came to content! Only complaint is that the store is a bit of a challenge to navigate through, and I doubt a stroller or wheelchair would really fit in many of the spaces. For an abeled person like myself it was fairly accessible, though like with most antique shops, some parts were very crowded. I love that part of stores like this because everything feels like a treasure hunt but it is something to consder before visiting. Staff was very friendly and even offered me a bag to carry around the store because I was buying so many items! A great experience.

This store is a collection of other vendors. The prices range from ridiculously overpriced to great deals. Most of the items in the store are antiques and pop culture. The woman who runs the store gets very argumentative if you interrupt her Candy Crush game.

I got a couple of jewelry sterling pieces and a vase. Mr. Tom was very nice and even pulled out additional jewelry trays for me to browse through. The store is packed and requires multiple passes to discover treasures you may have missed.

My girlfriend and I stopped in and found a wide variety of beautiful jewelry for ourselves and for our moms for Mother's Day. We also had a lovely conversation with Tom, who works one of the registers. We will definitely come back!

The store is setup with booths from different vendors. I found a product from one vendor on Craigslist, her name is Erica and she had fabulous finds, and is admirably crafty. The staff here was wonderful, and it's a nice little store to take a peek around and experience a piece of history. Four stars because of the prices.
