The Hideaway New Braunfels

Sorry forgot to get photos (yet again...if you've read my other reviews) But the food was really good! There were six of us and everyone except me had the Saturday night special (16oz ribeye, baked potato, and side salad for like $23) one of the group subbed veggies for the potato... but everyone (my wife gave me a bit of her steak) agreed... the steaks were great!! I had the southwest chicken egg rolls and they were very good also. flavors and crunch were spot on. Jess and Emily were attentive and friendly! Went again 2/14/26...Gracie was our server and did a fantastic job!! Kept the drinks coming!! Also, ROCK CASTLE was performing... very eclectic set and they were really good!!

Drove from Houston Texas (about 2 1/2 hours) to enjoy their "Big crawfish boil" from 1pm-3pm. Showed up around 12:50 and there wasn’t a huge crowd. It is a Sunday mind you and there was plenty of seating available. Good music and dark setting inside which was nice but since it’s a beautiful day we went outside. Not much shade out there but we were risking it for the biscuit. We had to ask other customers what to do and they informed us to order from the bar. The bar inside and out was full which is fine but everyone was taken care of and there wasn’t much movement. I approached the outdoor bar to order… "Excuse me I have a quick question when you get a sec" and both bartenders looked at me. They then proceeded to roll their eyes. We waited and waited. Sat back down. Us (group of 6) proceeded inside. One of us stood at one end of the bar and another at one end. One bartender looked over and rudely said "If you are ordering food for outside you order out there" she didn’t give us an opportunity to even speak and walked away. We had already had the rest of our party seated indoors. The instruction to order food was at either bar and no wait staff. Ok cool but an opportunity was not given. We left. Sad because it looked like a good place.

It's a great bar. There is a large menu for a bar but it is mostly deep fryer type food and well done at that. One really great bar keep and two that really wanted to be somewhere else. Great location, its off the main drive, and since NB needs to charge for parking on the main drive its a great area. Setting is laid out nicely. Nice outdoor area as well.

From the moment we sat down, our waiter Alan made us feel right at home — friendly, attentive, and genuinely proud of the food he was serving. We ordered the burgers, and hands down, they were the best we’ve had in New Braunfels — and that’s saying a lot! They’ve officially surpassed Muck & Fuss and Tin Top for us in quality, taste, and presentation. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection — every bite was next-level. And we can’t forget to give an honorable mention to their onion rings — unbelievably crispy, golden, and packed with flavor. Easily the best side we’ve had anywhere in town. If you’re looking for top-tier food, great service, and a local gem that’s raising the bar, The Hideaway is it. We’ll definitely be back — and asking for Alan!

We found this place looking at another restaurant and decided we had to go. The name is definitely true. This place is in the middle of a neighborhood. We thought we had taken a wrong turn, but no. This place is huge! When you come in the front door, you come into the bar area. There are several pool tables to the left and on the right a wall of tables. Right in the middle is a giant bar stocked with everything you could need. If you go pay the bar and down a few stairs you will find the dance floor. A very nice dance floor with several tables and an upstairs with tables and a view of the floor. Next, you go out the back door to yet again another bar area. There are several seats around the bar and seating all over the grass area. You can play corn hole and watch concerts. They also have a small play area for the kids. Pets are also allowed in the back. The menu is small but packed with goodness. I ordered the burger, my spouse the Philly and my mom the chicken sandwich. The food was amazing! If you follow me, you know how much I love my burgers. This was top-notch. Cooked to perfection and so tasty. The bartender was amazing. I suck with names, but it was her birthday that day, and she was so happy and full of energy. Despite only having 3 people at work, she took it all in stride. This is a great place, and looking forward to our next visit.

Saturday Steak Night $20! ( Forgot to take a photo ) My experience here was great I would come here often if I lived near. Drinks were priced right & strong! I also ordered a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich its was good as well.
