Riding Place

This is more of a review of Alicia, the horseback lesson teacher. Don’t take your kids to her. She’s impatient, rude and even talks poorly of children to other parents. Her horse is old and tired, doesn’t listen well, has apparently bitten children and stepped on them as well. When our daughter was struggling to connect with the horse, Alicia had the gall to say her horse NEVER has problems with kids like she was with our kids and that something must be wrong with our kid. Don’t waste your time with her. There’s a place in Gig Harbor that’s far better. Just go there.

Although I do not have a horse in board here, I have visited the facility several times and it is far from impressive. Coming from someone who used to ride and exchange lessons for barn help I can confidently say that The Riding Place is not the place for your horse and pales in comparison to a real barn. There is tripping hazards from careless stable hands (ie., hoses left out, barn equipment left out, etc.) the floors were unkempt, the horses have no pastures to run around in and are left in stalls all day, the horses getting injured from boredom and play in their areas without medical attention and more that I have heard from several sources. Do your horse a favor and do not board with The Riding Place.

When I contacted someone at The Riding Place for summer lessons, I was given a phone number to call and schedule with a trainer named Liz. I contacted Liz, waited several days before I contacted her AGAIN, and then several more days went by and I contacted her AGAIN. She FINALLY contacted me back and left a message that she would call the next day....never happened. I contacted her AGAIN...and AGAIN...and AGAIN. She NEVER called back and NEVER made contact with me in any sort of way. Unprofessional. Discourteous at the least. Unfortunately, it took me awhile to realize that she doesn't want us as customers or need our money. We have found another horse farm that actually answered their phone, answered all our questions, and signed us up the same day. My advice is don't bother calling The Riding Place because Liz doesn't give a horses a*s.

Great place for your horse(s)! Nice trails and indoor arena. The place is clean and well kept.

Excellent staff, and ownership. A flagship in high standards and care of horses. A must visit for any horse lover.

My family are in charge of the care of thr horses. And we do and excellent job varing for this place. Come check it out!!!

Took our 3year old there for her birthday they were fantastic with her.
