Bear Creek Stables

I just finished my four-lesson package at Bear Creek Equestrian Center and I feel compelled to leave an honest review. My experience is with the Western Intermediate Class. Even though they are group lessons they have the personalized feel of private lessons.. The instructor Shae pays attention to each student’s needs individually. Shae herself is extremely experienced and knowledgeable in Western riding techniques and equitation. I appreciated the fact that she paired each horse with the individual rider’s skills and abilities. The lesson horses here are fantastic. I got to ride a different horse per lesson and each horse was responsive yet gentle. The horses are in great condition, very healthy and happy and seem genuinely eager to do their job. The two lesson arenas are well-maintained, clean, and safe. The tack room is super organized, each horse has their own tack and equipment and everything is labelled with their name. If you or your child are interested in learning horseback riding, or just want to improve what you already know, I highly recommend Bear Creek Equestrian Center.

I’m a 35 yrs old who has ridden horses on and off for years. I recently switched to Bear Creek after an injury at another barn. I was looking for a more experienced instruction. Bear Creak has at least 10-12 different horses at different levels, depending on your level. They teach both English and Western. Unlike some barns that let you do whatever, Mariam makes sure you understand the basics before putting you on a more experienced horse. I also appreciate having adult riding lessons for those who take their lesson time more seriously. Sometimes you may get a different trainer which gives riders opportunities to learn from different instructors styles. The tack room is very organized. Each saddle has a pad, girth, and saddle rack with labels for the appropriate horse and their bridal. Each horse also has their own tack box labeled with their name and equipment. Fly masks, halter and lead rope and also provided for each horse. There’s an covered area and outdoor arena. From my understanding there has been some ownership changes and new instructors brought it. Compared to other bars I find this place very clean and the equipment well maintained. Yes, there’s dust, it’s barn. Overall I’m very pleased I found this lovely barn and these lovely people.

When I was in high school, I took English riding lessons at Bear Creek Stables. Now that I have daughters, I'm so glad Bear Creek is still around. The staff's love for their horses and equestrian sports is genuine and apparent. My daughter, age 8, took private English riding lessons for about 7 months at Bear Creek, starting in November 2017. When is came time to sign her and her younger sister up for summer camp, I knew just where to take them. Bear Creek is a great place for beginner and experienced riders. At the end of each week of the summer camp, the campers participate in a show in which they are able to demonstrate some of the things they've learned. Today I watched both of my young daughters trot and jump over cross rails. They've had such a great time learning about grooming, tack, and general horsemanship. I was so proud at the amount of confidence and grace they've picked up in such a short period of time. Thank you Bear Creek Stables for providing a safe, nurturing place for kids and adults to learn more about horses and riding.

I signed up for Western Riding I through UT's informal classes. The facility was nice; the instructor was great, and the assistants were sweet. I liked the horses and never felt unsafe at any time. The people are knowledgeable and friendly; the horses are well treated and obviously love them. I was surprised by how much fun it was and how stress relieving. My entire experience at Bear Creek Stables was positive, and I would recommend them to people of all ages.

Bear Creek was amazing! The instructors were amazing and explained very well how to treat, ride, and communicate with the horses. The horses was so mystical and magical, we even got to feed our horses an apple (we brought our own fruit), brush their hair, and just connect before we rode. We had the amazing opportunity of partnering with the stables for our holiday gift exchange and we are so thankful! Hope to work with them again!

We've been borders for about five months and are able to use the round pen to have our horse trained. The young man training our horse has an excellent rapour with all the horses including ours. Our horse has trimmed down nicely from the exercise she receives in training and appropriate feedings. I have also started taking lessons to improve my riding skills. I really appreciate the patience the instructor shows and hints he provides. The lessons are fun and very informative about riding and horses in general. I highly recommend taking the lessons at Bear Creek. They change the horses around to keep you improving so you don't just get used to one horse. The trainer is very good about making suggestions to everyone in the group so that one person is not embarrassed. Thanks to the hints received in the riding lessons, I really enjoyed my summer vacation doing a cattle drive. I stayed on the horse even when a long horn charged my horse. I'll keep using Bear Creek Stables and recommend it to others who love horses!!

We adore this stable! The lessons are amazing, every single person that works/trains there are so nice and knowledgeable. The horses are so sweet and well taken care of. We love Bear creek and HIGHLY recommend!
