Great to visit like we do, every year! This is a big deal in the horse world! It is more than you can really see in a day. There are ongoing horse events and demonstrations in the arena all day Saturday and Sunday. Buildings and buildings full of vendors everywhere... in every hallway inside and walkways outside. The food vendor selection is great with everything from carny and fair food to food trucks. Great cheese curd vendor and other 'sconsin classics. Go really early for parking, stay late and try to see as much you can.
It’s a fun time coming here! It’s a great way to learn and immerse yourself in the world of horses. There are so many options and activities throughout the weekend so plan ahead. The rodeo is alright, and the scheduling of the activities in the coliseum seemed to drag a little bit long. It’s very difficult to hear off the speakers in there, the audio quality is grainy and it’s hard to hear what people on the microphone are saying. There was an hour long liberty demonstration listed on the schedule but it didn’t fulfill expectations, it was a little boring. It was still entertaining! I recommend taking a day to come here even if you’re not interested in horses.
Fun to visit as observer, except the shopping part. Mediocre at best. I’m surprised that such a gigantic event doesn’t offer quality equine shopping. I’m very happy the fair is back. The stalls lack fans as it is so hot and poor horses that are performed were steaming inside. You have to bring your own hose to wash your horses. The parking was a little messy. It took 30 minutes to find a parking spot. While it is understandably busy as all horse enthusiasts gather, the organized parking can be improved.
Location was actually 4 days of all-breed & AKC dog shows, the Renaissance Cluster, in Pavilions 1 & 2. Excellent facilities!
This was affordable, friendly, and fun! The horse barns were amazing for wandering. The shopping was bountiful and food was plentiful.
I come ever year from Illinois. Never disappoints. A wide variety of clinics- interesting and informative vendors- beautiful ponies- If I had to gripe about one thing, it’s the vendors that have nothing to do with horses. Don’t come just because you want to sell something- horse people don’t just spend money Willy nilly.. we spend money on OUR HORSES.
The experience and facility itself were five star worthy, but the boomer who yelled at me to get out because the rodeo doors weren’t open yet when all I needed was a restroom really dampened the mood. Incredibly sorry I have a baby sitting on my bladder and need to pee constantly. Approach is everything and her bad attitude was really off putting. UPDATE: As we were leaving, a staff member shuttling guests in a golf cart hit our car and sped off. We have no way to file a claim or a police report because the person just kept going and we have no information other than a staff member at the horse fair hit our car with a golf cart. Very disappointed in the staff overall tonight. Still gave 2 stars because the rodeo was spectacular.
