Durham Equestrian Club

My daughter has been riding at Durham Equestrian Club for 5 years. We are extremely pleased with their lesson program and our daughter's progress. The trainers, Jenny, Carly and Taylor, are fantastic, and we are very happy with their lesson program direction and stability of the program. The facilities are top notch, and our house is very well cared for! The owners, Joe and Jamie, have been easy to work with and respond to any problems we have. We feel very fortunate to be a part of such a welcoming and fun equestrian community and program!

I have been riding at DEC for nearly a year now and am so grateful to have found this barn family. The trainers here are excellent and all have unique teaching styles to help you reach your riding goals. They have quality horses suitable for all riding levels.

We have been at DEC almost two years and my daughter has absolutely loved it. The relationship she has developed with the pony she leases, the other kids who ride, and the trainers is unlike any other. The trainers meet her where she is and have helped her in ways that worked specifically for her. She has dramatically improved her confidence, and learned so much more than just "how to ride a horse." I cannot imagine being elsewhere.

I am so thankful I found Durham Equestrian Club! After a 20 year break, I was looking to get back into riding and they’ve been the perfect fit. The instruction is safe and knowledgeable and I look forward to every lesson!

I've been boarding here for the past few months, let me just say, I have never felt more comfortable leaving my horse for a few days and knowing he will be in safe and loving hands!! The head trainer Sara is awesome, she has helped me grow as an already pretty competent advanced rider. The facility is very comfortable and although full board is expensive, you definitely get what you pay for.

I booked the lesson and the lesson was changed to a different date without confirming with me. I therefore cancelled the lesson and request a refund. It's been a week and I haven't received the refund. The staffs are not responsive to my message in terms of the refund process.

The owners, Joe and Jamie, and trainers, Jenny and Carly, are extremely friendly and supportive of all of their riders. DEC has riders of all ages and skill levels, and everyone there is so nice. They offer opportunities to show in schooling shows, and in the C and A circuits but there is low/no pressure to show. As an adult re-rider it was difficult for me to find a barn that I could see myself at long term. Then I found DEC. It's so rare to find a barn that offers all of these opportunities. I've been riding at DEC for about 1.5 years and have progressed so quickly, even surpassing my skill level when I stopped riding. I cannot recommend this barn enough!
