Breckenridge Stables

We had an amazing ride yesterday at Breckenridge Stables! We arrived early because our kids were excited to spend time watching and petting the horses. The setting is absolutely beautiful—peaceful and tucked away, yet just minutes from downtown. When we got there, there were about 30 horses already saddled and ready to ride. Each horse was called by name by the staff, who even taught our kids the horses’ names while they stood there loving on them. It was such a thoughtful touch. Our whole family was able to ride—including our kids (ages 2, 6, 8, and 9), my husband, and me. The wranglers were fantastic and greeted our children with so much enthusiasm as they introduced them to their horses. I wish I knew all of the wranglers names—they truly made the experience special from the start. Chris was our guide and he was wonderful. He interacted with both the kids and us adults throughout the ride, and even gave us great recommendations for other things to do around Breckenridge. We really enjoyed spending time with him. Although our family has horseback riding experience, you definitely don’t need any to enjoy this trail ride. The horses were calm and well-trained, and the experience was unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Grew up around horses, have some at home and fortunate to go riding different places from a young age. Without hesitation, these horses are the best I’ve ever been on, and the staff was just incredible. Even my wife, who hasn’t been on a horse in well over two decades, had zero issues. You can tell these animals are extremely well taken care of and loved, and Breck Stables really hits that sweet spot between riding them too much and them not getting used enough. They follow well and are obviously familiar with the terrain, but there’s still that element of control rather than the boring "autopilot" stuff you can get with some stables. IMO the price is very reasonable, especially considering the insane scenery, the quality of the animals and the staff. Ashley was our "wrangler" ($150 more for a private ride, 150% worth it!) and she was absolutely perfect. Between our boys and myself I don’t think there was a quiet moment the whole ride, but she handled all the talking and my dad jokes like a champ! Best tour guide we’ve had, and again really obvious she cares about the animals and riders. We are returning in January and will absolutely do the sleigh ride with Breckenridge Stables. Cannot possibly recommend them enough, seriously impressive. I hope everyone is really proud of what they’re doing up there.

We had an absolutely amazing time on our trail ride at Breckenridge Stables! The scenery was beautiful, and the ride was relaxing and fun for the whole family. A special shout-out to our wrangler, Madelyn — she was incredibly patient and so sweet with our 6-year-old, making sure he felt safe and comfortable the entire time. Her kindness and professionalism really made the experience extra special. Highly recommend for families looking for a memorable horseback riding adventure in the mountains!

Breck Stables was incredible. They take people of all abilities and accommodate disabilities (they even have a step/platform for you to mount your horse). My husband and I had never rode a horse before and they were patient with us as we learned the ropes. We had Nora and Chelsea as our wranglers and had a great time with them riding up the mountain. Highly recommend.

We had the most amazing experience at Breckenridge stables today! It was my first time on a horse and the wranglers did such a wonderful job helping me feel confident by giving clear directions and perfectly timed encouragement. Our group was small (5) with two wranglers and they felt very intentional and present. We were all paired with horses that seemed to match our personalities and it’s clear everyone at the stables takes wonderful care of the horses and that they love what they do. I highly recommend, thank you so much for making my first horse riding experience better than I could have hoped for!

Breckenridge Stables is a must! The trails were amazing, the views were gorgeous and the horses were the sweetest. Our wrangler, Chris did a great job!
