Willow Pond Stables

We have been going to Willow Pond Stables and getting lessons from Terri for 8 months now. It’s been an amazing experience for both my kiddos! Terri is extremely patient and kind, even with my rambunctious little guy. Her horses are well cared for and the property is beautiful and idealistic. She is amazing at working with us during schedule fluctuations and is always available for feedback on how the lessons are going. My favorite part is in addition to the kids learning to properly ride (western style), they are learning complete horse care and handling as well. The kids even get the extra treat of gathering chicken eggs and handling some of the other farm animals on occasion. Willow pond is the whole package and we will likely be continuing lessons well past the initial year we gifted the kids.

My 8 yr old can’t seem to keep track of the days of the week—unless it’s horseback riding day. Terri is an absolute gem of a teacher and is kind and soft-spoken, and my kiddo thinks the world of her. He’s learning lots of responsibility in the care and keeping of horses in addition to enjoying the riding. The farm is gorgeous and it’s a sweet hour of quiet that I enjoy while he’s busy horsing around.

My daughter has been taking lessons from Mrs. Terri for over a year and a half. She thoroughly enjoys her lessons each week. Mrs. Terri is very detailed in her lessons. She teaches how to take care of the horse before, during, and after riding. They learn how to put on the saddle, bridle, and other items needed to ride the horse. Her horses are gentle, beautiful, and fun to ride. My daughter loves them all, including Mrs. Terri! 😊 Super glad we have found this lovely place for our daughter to learn how to ride and be with these lovely horses.

We've been going to Willow Pond for years now and my kids have enjoyed every minute of every lesson. Lessons include both riding and husbandry. Terri is an amazing teacher. She is kind and patient and the horses are sweet and gentle. It's a fantastic environment and I would highly recommend it.

My seven year old, very shy, daughter took riding lessons with Ms. Terri this summer. The instructor and owner, Terri, was incredibly patient and gentle. She was a great teacher for my daughter who adores horses. I’m extremely protective of my daughter and always very concerned for her safety especially when it comes to being around horses. With Terri’s gentle and firm direction, I was very at ease letting my daughter trail ride, groom, and manage the horses. The pricing for lessons was very reasonable, and the facilities, and pastures, were beautiful and very well maintained. The horses and stalls were always well groomed and clean. Willow Pond Stables is a gorgeous oasis in the heart of Arden for all horse lovers. We will definitely be returning for more horse riding lessons every year!

We absolutely LOVE Willow Pond Stables!! Terry is such a joy to work with and we feel so fortunate to have found her and this location! While learning to properly ride is extremely important, having a firm foundation of horsemanship is a lifelong skill and sets up for responsible future horse owners. Our children have gained so much self confidence, enjoy responsibility and full hands on care for the horses. Whether it’s learning how to properly feed or how to safely approach and groom the horses. They love being able to tack up and be as hands on as possible. Their favorite day of the week is "going to see Miss Terry and her magical farm". All of her horses have such good temperament and it’s a wonderful spot to board.

What a find! We interviewed at several other places before we were lucky enough to find Terri and her stables. My seven-year-old daughter rider says "Her horses so are sweet!" and they are indeed such wonderful, and gentle, personalities. We have loved that she takes the time to be so patient and teach the kids about grooming, cleaning, feeding as well as the workings of the barn and still make time for riding- even since our very first lesson! I also love the setting so much and feel so happy catching tadpoles or greeting the chickens, Millicent the barn cat or the friendly rabbit with my other children during lesson time. Truly a phenomenal experience for the whole family! ❤️😁
