Last year I bought a gasoline blower. I accidentally filled it with regular gasoline instead of 2-cycle fuel mix, and it would no longer start. I took it back to Northern Tools. Their mechanic, David, said that the device was damaged beyond repair, and it was not covered by manufacturer’s warranty. He was very sympathetic, and he suggested that I call the manufacturer. I did so without receiving a reply. Several months later I realized that I had purchased an extended warranty. I took the blower back, and they gave me a new one at no additional charge. Northern Tool earned this 3-star rating because of a very unfriendly online ordering experience and failure to honor the company's offer of a $5 discount for orders over $100 (our order was over $200). One of the most uncomfortable things about the process is that even after 15 minutes the company hasn't sent the email confirmation of my order they promised within the next 2 minutes or so. The product looks great, so the company may earn a higher based on that once it arrives. I'm hopeful.

We have just had an awful experience with Northern Tool in Huntsville. bought a sprayer from them on Monday and could not get it to work. Took it back today with everything in it for them to look at. They finally figured it out, but when we was packing it back in the box, we asked for our battery back and they told us we didn’t bring one. We know we did, so they had to look at the camera and we showed them they took it out, but they refused to give it back. Don’t buy nothing from them because you will not get good service.

I do NOT recommend buying from this business. This is the first and last time I'll order from Northern Tool. I ordered the Milwaukee Impact Driver 2857-20 and a set of Ironton Impact Driver bits. I received a used Milwaukee 2757-20 with grease and someone's initials on it inside a 2857-20 box at the full price of the 2857-20 labeled as new. The packaging of the bits were also already opened. Obviously resale/reboxed items sold at full price as if they were new and they didn't even take the time to make sure they put the correct tool in the appropriate box. Very poor experience due to careless and/or deceitful work. This is no way to run a business. Buyers, you have been warned.

Not quite sure if this is a fair way to rate it, I actually really like the store and everybody that waited on me. We had a repair done on our mower and they did an excellent job. So the only reason I am giving a low review is to hopefully get some attention from Northern tools corporate to let them know how unhappy I am, that, after finding a great place to repair small machinery such as our mower, they've decided to close down the repair department!! Very dumb decision, it is very hard to find someone to fix those kinds of things, and as I understand it, the shop was always very busy and did well. I do not know who decided this but they should undecide it.
