Dobbin Farm

I’ve been boarding my horse at Dobbin for about a year now, and I can’t say enough good things about this barn! The care here is truly top-notch, and the owners genuinely care for both the horses and the owners. Sarah, one of the owners, has personally helped me work through several obstacles with my horse, and her knowledge and kindness have made such a difference in our journey. The barn is always clean, the horses are well-fed and happy, and the atmosphere is welcoming and supportive. I feel so lucky to have found Dobbin.

I purchased a horse from Sarah in October 2021 and was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly the transaction went. I bought this horse "sight unseen", off of the internet! Sarah was very honest and forthcoming about the horse. I have had him for 2 months now and everything she told me was true. When I could not find a shipper to get the horse to VA, Sarah offered to meet me half way! Such a blessing! I feel like I got very lucky to find Sarah and Lonnie (the horse)! Wonderful horse buying experience - thank you Sarah!

Amazing facility! We purchased a young horse from Sarah and her mother and had a wonderful, low stress experience. All horses were quiet, properly fed and shining. All the while we still receive correspondence, maintain friendly communication and even receive riding invites. My client and I are very impressed with the work and effort Sarah has put in to Dobbin Farm and keeping her horses and clientele happy.

Absolutely STUNNING facility, with care to match! The property has absolutely flourished since Sarah took it over. Her years of experience really show in caring for the needs of individual horses. A fun environment with people who really care about the animals. Sarah has utilized the facility by hosting clinics which I’ve really enjoyed participating in. If you’ve been in the horse business for anytime at all you know it’s virtually impossible to please everybody, but they really go the extra mile with their clients. The horses get spoiled with large and very well maintained grass turnouts, the indoor area is unmatched in the area, it’s bright and who doesn’t love mirrors! The outdoor is just as amazing and so large! The footing is extremely well kept as well. It’s really a dream place to board!

I can't say enough about Dobbin Farm. The barn is just beautiful and the indoor/outdoor arenas are very well maintained. The owners are extremely accommodating to special requests for their boarders and you can really tell that they love what they do. Clinics are offered from time to time and Sarah always seems to be looking for new ways to make the Farm even better. An easy choice if you're looking for a place to board; would recommend to anyone!

I've purchased, boarded, and sold a horse with Sarah. She is very honest and truly cares about the wellbeing of the horses, first and foremost. Sarah's devotion to the care of the horses shines through in every detail - footing, cleanliness, feed, maintenance of the property, and quality of turnout. The flexibility that she offers for boarders to use their own vet, farrier, and trainer is so appreciated and fairly unique in the industry. Sarah is a lifelong learner, and continuously seeks out opportunities to advance her skills as well as provide opportunities for her boarders (as well as the broader horse community) to advance theirs by seeking out external training opportunities as well as hosting internal clinics with top quality clinicians. Sarah, her husband Steve, and her mom Wendy are all incredibly helpful and willing put in the time to genuinely understand and work through any issues that arise between horse and rider.

A 5 star facility!! Absolutely beautiful barn (reminds me of Black Beauty’s barn), huge indoor area and outdoor arena - both with perfect and consistently groomed footing, heated bathroom, hot water, and everything else you could want or need!! Stalls always bedded really well, horses get turned out in beautiful grass paddocks (a wonderful attribute as sufficient turnout on grass is almost impossible to find!), owners feed lots of hay. Impeccable care - I travel frequently for my job and I never once worried about my horse as I knew the owners care for all of the horses like they are their own horses. A wonderful, no drama barn where you can bring in your own farrier, vet, trainer, etc. I just cannot say enough good things about Dobbin!! It’s an amazing place!!!
