Highwater Farm

Highwater Farm is the perfect place to take riding lessons! Barn owner & instructor Sharon has years of experience coaching students and training horses, and she has loads of interesting stories to share that go as far as to Ireland! Sharon is an amazing teacher who has an incredible ability to adapt her training style depending on each student. If a student has trouble understanding one way, she's always ready with another approach. The community of Highwater Farm is warm and welcoming. Students love working together at the barn, whether it's chasing the goat away from the feed room, mucking out stables, or designing courses for the miniature horse to jump. The community of helpers, volunteers, and students include their friends and families into their Highwater experience and it is awesome to be able to share progress by inviting them to bonfires at the barn, local horse shows, or even meeting up with them on trail rides to Borderland State Park. Highwater Farm teaches students important lessons helping them value teamwork, self-confidence, respect, and discipline. It is the perfect place for a balance between hard work and fun!

Highwater Farm is amazing! My sister and I have been riding here for over three years and Sharon does not disappoint! Each lesson is an amazing experience working with horses and learning right along with them. Highwater farm is different from most barns. Speaking on the behalf of all of our riders, I can truly say that we are a family.

I brought a group of children and parents to Highwater Farm for an educational, hands on tour and riding experience. It was amazing! The owner, Sharon provided the children with such exceptional experiences with the different animals. Sharon is warm, friendly, knowledgable, accommodating and mindful. The children loved riding the horses and there were plenty of staff to make sure each child was comfortable and safe. Highwater Farm is a hidden gem in Sharon and I can't wait to return!

We had my twins 8th birthday party here & it was such a wonderful time! Sharon was so warm and welcoming & had the kids feed the chickens & ducks, pet bunnies, and brush the horses. The kids could play on their swing set while they waited or learn to shoot archery. (The grown ups could shoot archery too :)) It was such a wonderful day!

I have been boarding my horse at Higheater farms now for 2 years now and it is the best place on the planet. Our trainer Sharon gives lesson for everyone even adults and will make you the best rider possible. Sharon is knowledgeable and very experienced around horses and can tame any horse she comes across, whether it’s to canter or to even let kids touch the horse without them flinching she can do it. If you are in the market for lessons or to board give her a call she will welcome you with no hesitation!!

High Water Farm is such a great farm! One of the best farms I have been to. I went to many barns, and when I went there, I didn't really change my riding. It didn't feel right and I started leaving riding. When I went to High Water Farm, everything changed. I felt a new me. My riding was changing and was improving like crazy. My riding has been going amazing and I have been learning that Balance is key. The place is super nice and SO fun to be their. You will never feel left out and you feel like you fit in. This barn changed my life and it made me enjoy horse-back-riding more than ever. The trainers and the helpers are the best to even ask for. They always help you out and are always fun to be with. This barn has changed my life, and I won't be leaving any time soon.

I can't recommend Highwater Farm more highly- I had never previously taken formal riding lessons, and my instructor, Meg, made me feel safe, comfortable, and confident. I was incredibly impressed by her ability to clearly communicate how I should be positioning myself, and she made gentle corrections to help me improve. My overall experience there was amazing.
