West Equestrian Ranch

This is an INCREDIBLE place to be for two of my girls. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. My now 7 year old has been begging Santa for a horse since she was old enough to talk. This gives her the chance to learn, ride, love the horses. My 15 year old was recently injured in soccer, and they worked with her situation and the crutches and walking boot to accommodate her. Safety is top priority. But so is being there emotionally for their riders and families. When my husband was in a wreck, Cheryl worked with us, encouraged the girls, gave them normalcy as best as she could. Both girls have now competed in a show and had a blast. Beginner, advanced, no matter what....there is a place for you!!!!

Can I give this place 10 stars? Love it here!!! Cheryl is incredible! Her staff are incredible! Everyone is so kind and makes you feel right at home. I've been taking lessons with Cheryl for about 7/ 8 years now and I have grown so much as a rider because of her. She is very detailed in how she explains the biomechanics of every move you're making in the saddle. Not only is she super knowledgeable, but she is a fantastic teacher. If you don't understand something she will find another way to explain it so that you do. What works for one person doesn't always work for the next; Cheryl understands this and makes it her personal mission to make sure you understand and get the most out of your lessons. She has also started two of my young horses under saddle and I could not have asked for a better riding foundation than what they have been given. Love her! Vaulting lessons are offered here as well. Super fun!

My granddaughter takes weekly lessons here and loves it! She is not only learning to ride but also how to care for her horse and tack. She is only 11 and is now able to tack and untack her horse by herself and correctly. Safety and using one’s body positioning appropriately to communicate with the horse are stressed continually. Cheryl and her staff are very gifted instructors and although very focused on safety and the correct and most effective way to teach equestrian skills, they always weave fun into each lesson.

We LOVE West Equestrian. Cheryl is AMAZING at noticing details and she expects the same of her other instructors. I have never felt like it's just "hop on a horse and go". Everything is taught thoroughly and each student is very ready to move to the next level of teaching. They are far from some of the haughty places you find. Very friendly and down to earth people. I highly recommend this business for lessons.

I've been taking lessons at West Equestrian for almost 5 years now. I started as a therapy rider due to a serious illness. Thanks to the staff's willingness and ability to work within my limitations, I have progressed so very far from only being able to ride 10 minutes to two 30 minute lessons a week! I count on my lessons for my mental and physical therapy. Thank you to Cheryl, Victor and all the staff at West!

I’ve been taking dressage lessons here for about 8 months and it’s been a wonderful experience for me! As an older adult, I’ve found the lessons challenging and just what I need to keep me growing as a horsewoman. Cheryl is patient and dedicated—highly recommended!

Cheryl is awesome! I started as a working student three years ago, and have had so many opportunities to learn and advance my horsemanship and riding skills. Cheryl has personally trained her schooling horses, and the one that I regularly ride is an excellent schoolmaster, as well as being super sweet. I have learned how to have a gentle touch with my seat, legs, and hands. The way the biomechanics are taught is very clear and concise; very easy to understand. If any instructor feels that you are not understanding a concept, they will change their wording until you get it!!! I recommend WEST to anyone who wants to learn to ride.
