Cedar Lodge Stables

I love this camp/stables!! I spent many magical summers here as a child until my teenage years. I loved the equestrian competition circuit when I got older. I literally came back every chance I could - winter camp? I’m there? Spring break? Sweet. And I love that after the many years I spent away, they welcomed me and my two kids for a visit this past summer. I'm neurodivergent and had never even considered overnight camp before I saw an ad for Cedar Lodge and felt it in my soul that I needed to go. I was a kid who called for pickup at midnight at every sleepover and to say my mom was nervous to commit to sending me for a full week is an understatement. I went every year after until I aged out and even convinced my mom to send me two weeks one of those summers. This place became my home away from home, when I think of where I felt most accepted and relaxed and effortlessly happy- This is where I imagine. If you're worried about where to send your kids, this place is for you. You won't find a more caring, considerate, and patient staff anywhere.

Went to see grdaughter in competition. She did well, 3- 1st ,3-2nd and 3-3rd places. The event was well run and had lots of experience in running it.

I went to this place as a child and it had the greatest memories for me. I met people of many cultures. Engaged in activities my home town lacked. Developed courage and confidence in working with massive animals. Had caring staff members watch out for me and keep me from making bad choices. My happiest days of childhood were here.

I grew up there. One of the most influential places, people and experiences of my life. Cedar Lodge is a place where children and young adults are presented with a safe environment that supports growth and exploration, personal development, challenge, independence, critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, and relationship building. It may sound too good to be true, but I will attest to the power of the people, place and experience.

Cedar Lodge has helped me develop life long friendships and skills that I have continued to maintain/utilize well into my adult life. It is truly a place that allows kids to be kids, to get dirty, to try new things in a safe environment, and to meet people that they would ordinarily walk by on a day to day basis.The friendships and memories that Cedar Lodge alumni have is a true testimony to what even 1 week of camp can provide. Why else would we come back as staff, parents, friends for year upon years? It is and will always be my home away from home.

I cannot tell you how great this camp is in a short post; but will try. Family owned for generations. Located in a beautiful area with a fantastic staff. A place where kids can live, love, learn and grow. They will build memories for a life time just like we did decades ago. I am now in 50's and still have wonderful memories and stay in touch with friends I made at camp.
