We love this barn! The owner, Holly, is so easy to get along with. She is a very knowledgeable and responsible horse owner. My family loves the quiet, family-friendly atmosphere here and we're so glad to keep our mare at this barn!

Some Things to Be Aware of Prior to Boarding at Fentress Fields Equestrian Center (FFEC) It can often be misleading when attempting to assess the quality of a facility based merely on Facebook reviews. These reviews are often filled with friends and family members, who might not have ever actually utilized the service, to help boost a business owners review status. Unfortunately, this can often confuse potential customers, especially if they are merely basing their decisions on those reviews. In the case of FFEC, this unfortunately is the case. Currently, FFEC is rated as a 4-5-star facility, though conditions of the facility and lack of overall maintenance, upkeep, and cleanliness of the facility are below subpar. When it comes to care provided, the OWNER (Holly Keefer Meeks) provides the bare minimum and often resorts to technicalities. For instance, technically she provides water, technically boarded horses are provided feed and forage, etc. Though these technicalities are left at the discretion of the OWNER, they are subject to change at any time without prior notice given to the boarder. The OWNER targets individuals with busy/unpredictable schedules, as these individuals allow her to lie to them without question, steal from them without notice, and provide subpar care to their equine counterparts without fear of these individuals noticing. Not saying that this has always been the case as I understand from previous boarders that this use to be a stellar barn, but in the last few months we boarded at FFEC, this had become more apparent, with many boarders leaving because of it. Personally speaking, we went from being able to come out 3 days a week (due to work constraints), to having to come out 5 days a week, to having to come out 7 days a week, to having to come out twice a day 7 days a week, to finally having to make the time to come out 3 times a day 7 days a week, just to ensure our horses were adequately taken care. After reporting our second experience of feed being taken from the feed room, the OWNER simply responded, "well, that’s crappy" without any offer of a remedy or solutions to address the problem. This led us in our last month at FFEC to took over full care of our 2 horses that resided at the facility (included feedings, stall cleaning, turnout and bring in), just to ensure some peace of mind. What is often promised when new boarders arrive at FFEC, often becomes a horror story when boarders realize what is going on, if at all, due to their busy schedules. This worry is what caused us to be more proactive in our horses’ care, but for some, this isn’t always a possibility and they are often left at the mercy of what the OWNER is promising and/or claiming she is doing but is not often happening. Though it’s been stated, FFEC is a "family friendly barn with a warm atmosphere, where your horse is part of our family," this is often far from the truth. Not only are boarded horses subjected to conditions the OWNER deems appropriate based on her convenience, they are often left without their basic needs being met i.e. food, water, and shelter. OWNER is known to threaten boarders who decide to leave the barn. OWNER is known to bash boarders on social media sites and threaten to blacklist them from other barns within the area. OWNER is highly passive aggressive and will take out her aggression on your horses when she’s upset, or something frustrates her. Examples of this can be given if needed, as well as confirmations of these examples by present and past boarders. For the safety and well-being of your equine counterparts, I suggest avoiding this place until conditions improve. With hope, the OWNER will take a round-turn on the condition and care provided at her barn and return this barn to its former glory. The condition, so many have come to know over the years. Just look at the condition of her beloved dog, which exemplifies the care we've received and witnessed at FFEC. M.J.
