I’ve just started taking lessons here recently. The horses are very sweet and lovable. The trainers are very good at what they do and are easy to talk to! Management seems pretty hard working and kind. The stable hands work super hard and make sure everyone is comfortable and taken care of, they’re always working to keep the horses happy! I definitely love it here Lol!
I have loved horses for my entire life and i randomly decided I wanted to find a place to take lessons, so I googled "best horse riding facilities near me" and Cjs was the first to pop up. I’ve been taking lessons here for a little while now and it’s been nothing but amazing. The trainers are super kind and pay attention really well. I’ve been riding Git and I feel like we’ve bonded so nicely! The horses are super sweet and easy to find pace with. I definitely recommend cjs if you want a nice facility with an amazing community!
CJ’s Legacy is something special, honestly, the best place to ride in the North Texas area. I’ve been riding here since CJ’s opened and boarded every horse I’ve owned there. It’s wild how much my horses and I have grown since we started coming here. Lessons don’t feel like lessons so much as lightbulb moments, every trainer brings their own spark and somehow makes even the tricky stuff click. The care is next level. Stalls are cozy, turnout is thoughtful, and the team notices the little things you don’t even think about until someone points them out. Management runs the place with a kind of steady, warm energy that makes you instantly relaxed. Like they actually love what they do and want the best for you and your horse. It’s also just a really fun, welcoming community. People cheer for each other, swap tips over the fence, and celebrate the small wins like they’re big ones. If you love horses and want a barn where both you and your horse are treated with care this is 100% the place you want to be.
Loving the facilities and trainers, they are so put together and me and my children love it! The horses are amazing as well! I’m interested in showing and the show trainer has got a lot of experience!!
We held a couples wedding shower for our son and future daughter-in-law there and the property is absolutely beautiful! The venue was perfect - with a nice spacious indoor room, spilling out to a beautiful patio and grounds where we had a food truck, games and a firepit. Karen & Ashley were extremely helpful getting everything set up for a perfect evening! This would also be a beautiful place for a small wedding. I hope to have another event here in the future!
STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. A year ago, CJ's was 5 stars with the leadership that was in place. The leadership that has been in place for the past 6-8 months is another story. Lisa Marie Bishop is who began making all decisions here in the summer of '25, Anel was passive and unknowledgeable and the two of them are exactly the reason we, and families with adult and children riders alike, left. I STRONGLY recommend that if you value your horse's health, seek boarding elsewhere. If you want your children's passion for the equestrian life to grow, go elsewhere. One year ago, I would have left a VERY different review. We had been customers in their lesson program for over 1.5 years before the training and barn leadership was handed over to Lisa and Anel. We took a step as a family and bought a horse in the fall of '25 and after being gas lit, disrespected, lied to, and overall treated terribly we pulled our horse from being there after 1 month of boarding him. We made friends at this barn and were the last of these families to terminate association with CJ's in an effort to give them a chance since we had enjoyed being there under the previous leadership. I hope CJ's makes positive changes and actually has a 'school' start because currently, and for the entire time we were customers there, there is none and has not been one. Any 5013c should operate as they state they are operating.
It is clear management/ownership is working hard to bolster their reviews yet not invest any effort or time to address or remedy the multiple wrong doings and issues that occurred with their clients who have had terrible experiences. When I took a tour of the boarding facility to be shown a location for our tack, their barn manager gloated about how her white horse receives baths every day by the staff yet made it clear that they don't offer that service to 'regular boarders'. It was quite distasteful, gave off the vibe that there was definitely a double standard here, yet I tried to chalk it up as a one off. Big mistake. While in the care of this facility my horse lost 100-200lbs within one months time. A major concern was having someone saddle and ride my horse without my permission, without me being present, and without my knowledge, then not told about it until after they discovered that I found out. When we vacated the property I was denied my fully refundable deposit despite having paid for our time there in full. The issues I have had, which aren't even close to being mentioned in full here, have never been addressed. My emails were ignored and at that point I trusted my instincts and got my horse out of there as fast as I could. Their business description is not a true representation of how this place operates so I highly recommend that if you do fall for it, make sure you are getting exactly what you sign on for, we experienced the opposite of what we were told and was to be expected. Photos are of the main barn, one of over a years worth of lessons, and the day we brought our horse (in perfect health) to the barn.
