Brookway Stables

Me and my family won’t be coming back to this place. While the receptionist was lovely (a young, latino woman), one of the horse trainers was very hostile and her aggressive attitude was unbelievable really to exist in a place like this (an afro-american woman).

I've only made deliveries here through my work. They have a nice group of people working there.

Very good place

I witnessed Mr. Cox teaching a clinic, with myself as an auditor. It was horrific to watch and I had to walk out. I stuck around long (through two hours, each day, on two separate days) enough to be sure I was seeing what I was seeing, and it was incredibly disappointing to realize that yes, in fact he is screaming at overfaced riders, he is throwing rocks and sand at terrified and unprepared horses, he is encouraging see-sawing the horse’s mouth in a Waterford, he is setting jumps higher and closer in a very dangerous way, yelling at riders to yank their horses down to a halt at the end of a gymnastics line in a two-stride space. Mr. Cox showed nothing but outdated, barbaric, unintelligent instruction to his students, put them in dangerous situations, had jumps and exercises set up that were inappropriate to the skill levels of the pairs, and only kept raising them and making the situation escalate and become more dangerous. He is a show-boating, arrogant "instructor" who will never hear how he is wrong or could even improve himself. I can’t wait for the full shift in the horse world to eradicate bullying, dumbed-down, snobby, self-important, entitled "horsepeople" who only encourage their clients to spend more and fund their human- focused stables. The horse is a forgotten creature in his eyes, it is clear by the way he treats them. What a waste of time and money to try and learn from a "nationally ranking" professional. Laughable, if it wasn’t so disgraceful.
