Our daughters have loved riding here this year. Wonderful experience as the children learn how to prepare their horse for a lesson and clean up & put everything away afterward as well. Miss Diane is beloved by my girls and is an amazing instructor. Wyeth and the rest of the staff and other riders are so kind and always willing to help newbies out. Thankful we found this wonderful riding school!

This barn is so amazing. The trainers are so amazing and help you out so much. I adore the people, the staff, and the horses. They truly are the most amazing crew I could’ve ask for.

We took a group of boys to learn about horses and riding. They were so kind and helpful to our crew. From putting on a halter to brushing and eventually getting a saddle on the horse. What a great experience.

There couldn’t be a better place to spend a day than at Alta Hills. If you’re new or experienced, they have the option for you. Lease a horse, bring your own, or sign up for lessons. Family owned for decades and one of the nicest families at that!

I have had many quality riding experiences here, and I practically grew up as a barn kid here in my youth. They teach children and adults of all riding levels, and help clients attain their goals - whether it’s learning to ride for the first time, working through problems, going to shows and competing, or finding a horse for purchase. The stables offers boarding, has multiple turnouts for use, one indoor arena, two outdoor arenas, a round pen, has a nice wash rack area, and secure lockers for your gear. Not just professional trainers, but a wonderful family atmosphere, and a lovely bed and breakfast for those passing through. You will build life long relationships here!

If your child is new to English riding, I would not recommend this place. My daughter has experience riding Western, but not English, but was excited to give it a try. The owner seemed genuinely annoyed that we were there. She told my daughter to fetch a horse (even though we'd never been to her stable and didn't know where the horse was), then pawned off her to another student who didn't really know what to do with her, but who was nice anyway. When the owner finally got around to us, she said that she had to make sure the other girl she was working with had her lesson because, "She was a paying customer", as if we weren't! The owner then proceed to "teach" my daughter by yelling "up, down, up, down!" her from her bench, told her her legs were too long, and made other snide remarks. She was so vile and harsh in her comments, that she made her cry. Again, I would not recommend this place.
