San Diego Trail Company

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with San Diego Trail Company. He planned the outing as part of a weekend anniversary celebration, and it was truly perfect. We stayed at a nearby Airbnb and walked up to the ranch. Gabby greeted us warmly and, within the first 10 minutes, taught us so much about horses. Before the ride, we were able to spend time brushing and interacting with them, which made the experience feel even more special. I had the chance to brush and connect with Roggy, who I instantly fell in love with. He had such a gentle, easy-going personality, and riding him on the one-hour trail ride was the absolute best. Helmets were provided, and Gabby was an excellent trail leader who made safety the top priority. She clearly explained how to sit properly, how to hold the reins, which commands to use, and how to steer and stop our horses. The ride itself was beautiful—winding through the hills of Poway, far from the noise of the roads. Gabby guided us up and down the trail for about an hour before returning to the arena where we started. At the end, we even got to lead our horses back to their stalls and feed them carrots. It was such a memorable experience, and I can’t wait to go back!

Had a noon trail ride for beginner riders (one teen and two adults). Helmets were provided and blocks to help us get onto the horses made everything easy. The horses were saddled and we were taught a little bit about interacting with them. We got to pet and brush the horses for 30 minutes before the ride. The ride lasted 1 hour and all of us had fun. We brought apples and were able to give the horses half apples after the ride.

Had a wonderful morning riding the trails accessed from the ranch. Beautiful part of the county and a true delight to ride through the SDTC facility. Next time….longer ride, today was a shorter ride, by our choice, due to the heat wave in the San Diego’s east county. Still, was perfect and highly recommend.

We had so much fun on our ride! Ernesto made sure everyone was safe and had a great time. It was a perfect day with perfect weather and SO beautiful! The hills are amazing. I can’t wait to go back. Thank you Ernesto! Thank you SDTC!

As I child, I had a Shetland pony and then an 8 year old gelding. I love riding. Fast forward at age 35. I was told I have diabetes , and at 56, I had a below the knee amputation. My birthday was July 4th. I wanted to go horseback riding, but after talking to Nicole, we agreed to start with an interaction with a horse. The horse i got to interact with was jalapeño. Gorgeous horse . He was gentle very much and wanted attention. Wasn't just a bump on a log just standing there . The interaction was great. Thank you, Nicole, and everyone else for making my birthday horse interaction a great one. 😁😆😄

My friend and I booked a hour and half trail ride, and we loved the whole experience! We both hadn't ridden in a while and talked about planning something. Found this place and liked the reviews. It's very quaint and cute, our lead (Gabby) was so down to earth and wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable and taught both my friend and I some new things! We got to ride Reba and Gypsy who were just beautiful creatures to take the adventure with! If you are looking for a place to go riding I definitely suggest this place! I definitely will be planning to go back soon!

Another successful ride in the books with San Diego Trail Company! Gabby was our wonderful guide and she was so great with the kids. She let them brush the horses ahead of time and gave them some horse care basics. The youngest rider, a 10-year-old, was intially excited, but became more apprehensive as the horses were being saddled. Gabby was so patient with her and really helped her build her confidence. She kept the lead line on that horse and talked to her the entire ride. By the time we returned to the stable, she asked her dad if she could do it again! Thanks, Gabby and Nicole, for another wonderful horse experience!
