Oregon Horsemanship

I strongly recommend Oregon Horsemanship for someone looking to build their skills in relationship based riding. I have not found other barns in the area that offer what they offer. I used to ride dressage but didn’t want to compete and wanted to focus on partnership and connection. The focus on groundwork, riding through body not hands, and on the health and happiness of the horses is stellar. Great place! I’m so grateful they work with adults as well as kids!

We have absolutely loved our experience at Oregon Horsemanship. They do a great job of introducing littles to the horses in a fun and safe way. Our 5 year old has absolutely loved her time here and has learned so much about caring for horses and built so much confidence in her skills with riding. They truly know how to foster love and respect for the animals. Letitia has been very accomodating of our schedule making it easy for us to continue lessons while still meeting life obligations. Our daughter has attended summer camps and has done weekly lessons with Oregon Horsemanship for the last six months. Letitia and her team are wonderful stewards, and our daughter has gained confidence and a passion for animals through this program. The program is well designed to instill confidence while being educational, fun, and engaging. Letitia and her program hold the kids accountable, and we are so thankful for Oregon Horsemanship.

We cannot say enough good things about Oregon Horsemanship. My daughter received a deep, thorough understanding not just of how to sit on a horse, but how to act and think and move around horses, and how to communicate with body language alone, that will serve her for the rest of her riding career, and life. It is clear that Letitia and her team truly care about the horses and the students. They provided personalized, tailored instruction to my daughter to help her grow as a rider and develop new skills quickly. When she met her "heart horse," she was able to develop that relationship further and get to know him on a deeper level. We miss living close to Oregon Horsemanship but know that the kids and horses there are all receiving the best care!

My daughter has been taking lessons for almost a year. I have seen her change over the last year to a more confident girl. It has reflected in her school work and how she is at home. She loves these horses and the staff, and they are wonderful with her.

My 2 girls (6 and 8 yr old) went to camp over the summer, and absolutely loved it. They were beginners and it was the perfect introduction to not only riding horses, but how to care for them. All the people are Oregon Horsemanship were absolutely lovely, and it was hugs all around on their last day. The girls are already planning their return for next summer.

Back many many moons ago when I was just a tween punk kid, I rode horses and took lessons that my Dad struggled to pay for on a postal workers salary, but he made it happen. I lost my Dad a few months ago and I decided to honor him by getting back in the saddle. I was looking for something specific, though, I wasn’t looking for competitive hunter jumper programs from my youth, I was looking for pure heart and soul bonding and compassion between a horse and rider, and I have found that here. Leticia and her crew have created this beautiful space full of compassion and loving energy and I am SO HAPPY I found them. Thank you!
