Silver Springs Farm

We had such a fantastic experience visiting Sliver Springs Farm and Vineyard! The tour was both welcoming and memorable, and the champagne was outstanding. We also loved trying Allen's port and bourbon, each one was truly exceptional. It’s inspiring to see this passion for winemaking here in Kentucky. We’re excited to support Allen’s future endeavors and can’t recommend a visit enough!

Champagne in Kentucky???? You read that right. And surprisingly good champagne made using the same production methods used in traditional method Champagne. In between Bourbon Country and dinner, we came across Silver Springs Farm just outside of Lexington. After talking to Allen prior to our trip and learning more about the type of wines he makes, we booked a wine tasting for the five of us. Our tasting turned out to be awesome and we wound up running late for our dinner reservation. But, we had so much fun we didn’t care. We tasted three wines all from the traminette grape. As mentioned, we tried his champagne which we all liked. We then tried the still dry white and then finished with an orange champagne. We enjoyed all of them and took some home with us right next to our bourbon bottles. Allen is such a great host. We sat in the backyard of his house sipping the wine and learning about all of Allen’s experiences and enterprises. He is a very fascinating person. We even had a chance to get up close to the stable of horses he has on his farm. In summary, I would highly recommend checking out Allen and Silver Springs Farm. You will have a fun time.

My husband and I are staying in the cottage on this farm. Al and Leslie are absolutely wonderful: accommodating, friendly, personable, and so very kind! Their horses are beautiful and friendly, too. So very excited to have found this place. Will definitely return! I think we found a new respite place.
