J & J Pony Rental

We had the ponies for my child's birthday party and it was an A+ experience all around. The staff were punctual, kind, and professional. The ponies were so well cared for. I couldn't have asked for a better time. We are definitely asking them back again!!

The Staff were AMAZING, The Ponies were AMAZING, and our 1st 'My Lil Pony Party' WAS AMAZING!!! Thank you soooooo much!

We attended a child’s birthday party where J & J Ponies (also referred to as Hunter’s Haven) was hired for pony rides and animal interactions. What should have been a joyful and inclusive experience for all children turned into a deeply upsetting one for my daughter—and for me as her mother. My daughter is deaf and has been riding horses in a therapeutic setting since she was two. She's almost five now and was absolutely overjoyed to see the horses and excited to feed them. As she approached one of the horses with an apple, the man in charge yelled at her to "put her listening ears on"—an ignorant and frankly offensive phrase to use with any child, let alone one who is deaf. When she didn’t respond (because she cannot hear), he escalated by saying that if she continued not to listen, she wouldn’t be allowed to ride the horses. This was said loud enough that everyone around turned to look. I approached and calmly told him that my daughter is deaf. His response? "Oh, that makes so much sense now," said without an ounce of apology or reflection. Let me be clear: this is not acceptable. Not for my child, not for anyone’s child. The lack of awareness, sensitivity, and basic human decency this man showed was not only unprofessional—it was harmful. It made my daughter feel confused and singled out in front of others during what was supposed to be a fun celebration. This company clearly lacks any disability awareness or training and is not a safe or inclusive environment for children with disabilities. It is alarming that they are allowed to provide services for events where children of all abilities will be present, without even the most basic understanding of how to interact with them. Parents should be aware: if you’re considering hiring J & J Ponies / Hunter’s Haven and have a child with a disability—or any empathy for children who do—I strongly urge you to look elsewhere.
