This was such a different, fun experience! I LOVED it so much. I’ve ridden a horse before while someone was walking and guiding it, but never had the chance to do it on my own until now! Hawke, the horse I was riding, was such a good boy! He followed his brothers that were leading. He made it easier for me as a novice. He was such a cutie 🥰 I love him. Everytime we stopped, he would find the opportunity to snack. He made it easier for me because he knew what to do. So if it’s your first time, it’s okay to be nervous, cause I was, but you are in great hands! Ash, our guide was so nice and phenomenal. He was patient with us and took lots of pictures. He taught us how to maneuver and stop the horses. He even saved the day by noticing that I dropped my phone! He was so good! I would wear pockets with zippers next time. I’ll for sure return because it was a great experience. Everybody was so nice. The horses were well taken care of and loved. I would 100% recommend. This was such a great find. This place is the BEST! My sister loves riding horses, so her boyfriend wanted to plan a special engagement for her. This stable went above and beyond to make it happen and they paid special attention to the details. Even when I, the surprise photographer, almost pulled up too early and was spotted, they distracted her so that she wouldn’t see the car. They were sure to take the couple to a beautiful area where I was hiding out, ready to take their pictures when they arrived on their horses. They brought a horse for me in a trailer as well so that I could ride a horse back with them. He took plenty of videos and plenty of pictures to capture the special moment. He also made sure we had a horse of each color to choose from for the pictures. I attached some of the pictures that I got below. She never suspected a thing, it was such a beautiful surprise. Everyone who worked there was kind, welcoming, and extremely helpful. I really can’t say enough good things! If you’re looking for a great place to ride, this is it!

My first time horse back riding and the experience was simply amazing! Our teacher was a wonderful guide and was so happy to teach us about horses. I learned a lot and enjoyed the beautiful trail ride with him and the horses Oti and Safe! I am so grateful for Family Stables! We will be spending a lot of time here this spring and summer

We had such an amazing experience! Our family rented four horses, and everything was perfect from start to finish. The kids had a young horse that were just right for them, and the instructor was incredibly patient, he took the time to teach each child how to ride, helped them overcome their fears, and made sure they felt comfortable and confident. By the end, they were eager to ride again! The adults also had a great time taking turns riding. We even got to tour the stables and meet the other horses, which was such a special touch. I highly recommend Family Stables for anyone interested in horseback riding. They offer trail rides, carriage rides, and private lessons. We’ll definitely be back and will be recommending them to all our family and friends!

I went on a beautiful trail ride in the metroparks & had the most serene afternoon! The staff is extremely kind, easy to work with, and provides excellent care to their animals! The horses are well trained and were perfect for beginner riders! We will definitely be back! Thanks for a beautiful afternoon!! Cannot recommend them enough!

Wonderful birthday experience as a first time rider. Ash was an incredible guide. He was patient and you could tell he loved his job and the horses. We felt safe and loved our time in nature with the horses Safe and Diesel. What a gem of a company. Will definitely be back! Thanks Ash!
