I have boarded and trained at Horselife for the past nearly 7 years. Having spent 30 years in this industry, owning horses in four different states with my horses in full training, full care, self care, and horses in my own backyard situations, I can tell you they will have to kick me out for me to ever leave their program. When I moved to TX this barn became my home. I am an adult amateur with two young children and they support me immensely in balancing my desires to ride and show while also being a mom who works. They are constantly helping (and rehelping, and rehelping) me hash out the steps to achieve my goals and ensuring my horse is happy and up for the task throughout. They support my anxious amateur tendencies and know when to push me and when to just cruise. The barn atmosphere is made up of teammates and there truly is no drama (and not the type of no drama where they say there’s no drama but there actually is drama, it’s simply not tolerated because mature conversations are had instead). We have an amazing group of amateurs traveling around to local dressage shows, CTs and horse trials as well as all the rated events. At the shows our teammates collaborate to provide cheering squads to everyone else. A few times a year we will all collab on where we want to go and take a trip to KY, FL, GA, Aiken, Coconino, Rebecca etc. We get together at the barn for not just the barn parties but happy hours, weekend rides, cheersies after a show day, and yes, a barn book club. There are even therapists with offices in the barn who do sports performance coaching. I’m telling you, I barely have to leave the premises to live 75% of my life 🤣 I love that I’m able to be at a show barn yet my trainers aren’t peacing out to Florida for three months out of the year. Even on the weekends one of the head trainers does their best to stay behind and the consistency and safety is comforting. The coaches and even many of us riders are heavily involved in volunteering and contributing to the boards on NTEA and USEA Area V and nationally. Clinics are held regularly. The vet comes weekly. There is a variety of farriers available which not many barns allow much less provide. There is always a trailer hooked up for emergencies. The stalls are cleaned 3x a day. There is a variety of feed and hay options and supplements/medications are provided seamlessly. Horses are monitored to ensure turnout groups and stall assignments are working cohesively. Injuries are immediately noticed. I obviously can’t say enough about the place. It has been the perfect barn for me!
