Music Hall

This location is a gorgeous venue with really good acoustics. I saw an Eric Clapton and George Harrison tribute band there and it was very fun. The decor is very nice and there are 2 awesome bars. I will definitely return to see another show. Ub40 is playing there in September so I'm going to go to that.

Classicly styled, ornately ordained and very intimate Hall with great acoustics and crowd feeling. Great history here with Mark Twain being amongst the most notable to hit the stage. The performers seem to be in awe of the closeness and inspiration of the crowd as if the acoustics make the feedback stronger. Really nice place to see a show with friendly staff, fast lines, and clean bathrooms.

Ive been an on and off Volunteer of The Music Hall since 1986...over the years have seen some amazing performances: Tony Bennett, Pearl Bailey, Bobby McFerrin, Broadway shows such as White Christmas, ELF, Beauty and The Beast, also Portsmouth NH Symphony, Writers on the Stage the list goes on and on....I've seen the Music Hall transform with new seats, Proscenium, Chandelier, new paint and the uncovering of Vintage trompe l'oeil fresccoes, the beautiful Lobby and bathrooms. The Music Hall, in my opinion, is the CENTER of all that makes Portsmouth HOME. When you Volunteer, you have a chance to be part of history, but get to see world- class performances FOR FREE!

First time attending a show at this beautiful venue. Such an intimate setting! We saw a band and I think most seats are good because you can hear the music from anywhere, however if it was a play there are some partially obstructed view seats. Not sure about all the seats in the balcony as we were on the lower level. All the volunteers were really nice & very helpful. I felt like I was in the Grotto when I went to the ladies room! Was not expecting a fun bathroom!

I love this theatre. It's always fun being in Portsmouth. Great shops and restaurants in walking distance of the theatre, and the theatre itself is beautiful and well run. My only complaint are the old theatre seats. They get very uncomfortable after a short while.

A quaint venue. Small stage for entertainers. Acoustics were great. Staff attentive! Nice selection of drink and food options.
