Lovely lesson and very reasonably priced compared to other places. Didn’t realize there would be other students so that would’ve been nice to know (my daughter is more of a one on one) but also makes sense for the price. He took us in last minute the day before so really appreciated it. Would definitely come back when we’re in town again and my friends that live near by want to take their kids now too. Thank you !

I have been riding with Robert at Elm Ridge since 2016. If you’re looking for a trainer that will really teach you the fundamentals and foundations that you need to be an amazing rider then look no further. Robert has helped me become a much better equestrian than I ever hoped to be. And he’s the reason my OTTB and I are where we are today! I hope to continue learning from him for years to come.

Elm Ridge Stables is a wonderful place. Robert showed our children not only what to do around horses and how to ride, but also how to remain calm and composed. This has been a very different experience from other horse lessons we have attended, where the child and the horse are secondary to the seemingly wrong actions (pull reigns harder, kick the horse to get it to move, and "stop being so scared of the horse"). Robert reinforced the proper way to handle the horses by having the children gently lift the reigns to guide the horse, talk to the horse to initiate movement, and reminding the children to breathe and relax. Their tensions eased greatly, and by the end of the lesson they were smiling and appeared to really enjoy the ride. No doubt we will be back again. We are so grateful to Robert for his care and attention to everyone involved in the lesson. I am personally thankful for truly gifted educators who can make a great impact on those around them. Robert is one of them. Thank you!

I have been riding at Elm Ridge for 14 years with Robert and I have loved every second! I now have a horse stabled out there and he couldn't be happier! Robert takes amazing care in looking after him! The horses always have hay and he feeds most of the horses 2x a day unless needed otherwise. They have clean stalls, fans in the stalls for hot weather, 2 buckets of clean water, and if any injuries occur they are taken care of right away. He never puts the horses or riders in any danger, and always encourages everyone to do their best. This is an amazing place, everyone treats each other like family, because this is our horse family!

I couldn't be more impressed with a stable. We moved here a year ago and our daughter was riding hunter at a very classic Arabian barn. Robert has helped her make huge strides in moving to hunter-jumper and is more a mentor than instructor. We decided she needed her own competition horse and they helped us locate and buy an excellent horse. We are so happy with his care and training at the barn.

I have ridden at Elm Ridge Stables for 6 years now. Since april I have boarded a horse at Elm Ridge. This place is absolutely beautiful! It is a place where you will meet amazing horse people and be surrounded by horses that are happy and healthy. My horse (Dr Roo) has gone from a slightly underweight, ex-racehorse, rescue to a happy, healthy hunter. Robert and Linda make all this possible. They work harder than I have ever seen 2 people work, to care for these horses and this barn. I am so thankful to be a part of the Elm Ridge community and I frequently encourage others to come and be a part of it as well.
