Forward Stride

Fantastic and fun group lessons this quarter. Instructor Mackenzie’s warmth and connection are so amazing. Her ability to enlighten us on complicated concepts is incredible. Her love of teaching and all the horses shines through. I’m such a more confident rider now, but still have a long way to go! The support staff and all the volunteers make up such a supportive, caring family. This stable and equine program cover so many bases and meet so many needs. My seven-year-old son has also benefited with the equine therapy program in managing his anxiety and ADHD. Thank you Forward Stride!

I had my first experience and intake with Kimberlee and Shannon and Jewel the horse. It was great. Jewel was in a pasture/barn she hasn't been in before so she was a little distracted by the new dry grass to eat but it's ok. I get it and it's not Jewels fault and it was the intake session. I still got to interact with her and Kimberlee and Shannon were fantastic. I already have a psychologist I see monthly since my TBI, but this is different with the horses and a new therapist and I don't mind adding tools to my toolbox to help me be my beat self and I grew up around horse and had one as a kid so this is great for me! I appreciate Kimberlee and Shannon's experience and I loved learning that Shannon get me as she too is a TBI survivor so that felt good and right, made Forward Stride feel like that much better of an experience. One session down and can't wait for many more!

This place is amazing and is helping me in so many ways. The first horse I met was thistle, and I fell in love with her.

This place is on constant need for donations- horses are expensive. But these horses are special and they're riders are even more special. Special needs children are able to ride here and bond with their gentle giants. These patient horses are full of love, but they must eat & the stable must be maintained. This is a top notch center for physical therapy using horses to help people with physical challenges improve their balance and mobility. Also, they do equine assisted psychotherapy, and are rated one of the best in the nation. Vaulting is available for advanced physical therapy. This is absolutely the best facility of its kind I have seen in three states.
