Summer Valley Equestrian Center

I have three horses on pasture board at Summer Valley and I've worked with Joe for about 6 years now. In that time, I've seen him go above and beyond what was expected such as put shoes on a tender footed horse and provide a stall for a horse to help it gain some weight with extra grain (with no extra cost to the owner). He's provided thin horses with senior feed, rice bran or beet pulp and has treated rain rot and scratches again with no extra cost. I've seen him put pasture boarded horses on stall rest with no extra cost and he took the time to wrap their legs daily if needed. Hes done countless good deeds although sometimes subtle and unfortunately unnoticed by the owners.One of my horses has a problem with choking and he wets the feed (which we've done for several other horses as well). My horses are fat and happy and very calm at Summer Valley. We also have an awesome group of regulars to trail ride with and we go almost every Saturday and Sunday if weather permits. I consider these people to be family and Summer Valley as a home away from home.

Disappointed in what I was told and what i actually was given... I Get a kick out of seeing 5 star reviews from people that work there . .When I took my horses fly sheets off they had marks and cuts on them. I was also advised my horses would get fed twice a day. I was not told that come summer they wouldn't unless they come up.Which means they arent even getting fed once a day!!! I first noticed that my grain was not getting low like it should when being fed, I ask and was told that well maybe at the other place you were at they were taking your food. I ask the young girl that works there and she admitted they arent getting fed unless they come up. I continued to ask how often my horses were getting fed. I was told well wild horses dont eat grain. REALLY. I recently moved my horses and the first thing someone there said when I brought them off the trailer was how skinny they looked 🙁 once I took those sheets off and saw ribs and marks all over them , they look like they have been neglected!. I trust people to take care when I'm unable to , I thought I would get that treatment. The pasture board horses seem to get the short end of the stick. UPDATE MY HORSES HAVE BEEN COMING IN TO EAT NO PROBLEM. MMMM I DONT EVEN HAVE TO CALL THEM,,

Joe does a great job taking care of the horses, he pays attention to the horses, he can recognize if the horse is in pain or sick. He will help you out as good as he can.

Beautiful property and the horses are well taken care of! Been with this facility for almost 4 years. Thankful for everything the owner has done for my mare!
