America's Country Store and Pet Resort

I recently boarding my dogs here for a three day weekend and paid for them to be groomed while they were there. When I picked them up they both smelled like they’d been rolling in feces. I was also informed that they didn’t trim all of my dogs’ nails, and couldn’t clean one ear. I was still charged full price. I was also told that they could keep my great Dane puppy’s bowl full at all times, and he was considerably drawn up when I picked him up. I understand that it is an extra chore, but I was assured that that would be no problem. I’m giving three stars because they did not seem to be dirty, even though they had an odor. And my dogs seemed relatively happy.

The store itself is pretty cool except for the untrained off leash dog that will run up to you and your dog and push every boundary known to man. Thats a recipe for a fight. As a place with a "training" aspect to it you’d expect at least basic knowledge that having a dog off leash and untrained is not a good idea. Not all dogs/people are comfortable with unknown dogs. Upon entering there is a sign that says all dogs must be on leash. All dogs not just some.

We took our 6 month old golden doodle for trimming around nails and stomach. We told them we want him to stay fluffy and not look like a poodle. They replied that they like to keep doodles fluffy as well. When we picked him up that is exactly what he looked like. Shaven top to bottom. I called and they stated they watched video and listened to our conversation and they told us that is what we told you we would do. That is not true and we wouldn’t have dropped him off if we knew that. Very disappointed with their response and lying about what was said when he was dropped off. The training we had leading up to this was fantastic but grooming not so much.

Peter and I live in Navasota, Tx and we drive to America's Country Store in College Station usually twice a month. Once for grooming and once for just a bath. We moved here in 2017 and after trying several groomers we decided we liked Marissa at America's Country Store the bestest. Peter was two when we started and he is now 9 yrs old. Everyone ther treats Peter as if he owned the place and he is spoiled just like I do at home. He has also been boarded there numberous times and is perfectly happy....who wouldn't be.....private room, patio, a/c, music....really.

When we moved to CS, we needed a dog groomer, a place for boarding, and occasional doggie day care. Americas country store has all 3, and they have exceeded our expectations! The staff here is friendly and helpful. Our dog throughly enjoys day care and it's worth every penny. He has a blast everytime and comes home worn out from all the fun. Our groomer here does outstanding work too. As a bonus, the store is stocked with everything you could think of for your pet. 5 stars. Check it out!

Horrible experience for my dog. Faith was WAY too aggressive. I brought my small dog in for a nail trim because he gets very nervous so I didn’t wanna risk hurting him by doing it myself. I was not even checked in first before he was handed off to a groomer, Faith. He immediately started pulling because he was nervous. As I was checking him in i hear him start yelping so I looked up and Faith is pulling at him very aggressively. She then pulls his opposite paw across his body to trim it, and when he tries to get away she yanks him back by the paw across his body nearly knocking over. He was obviously very distressed and she did nothing to try and soothe him. Another groomer eventually came over to pet him and he calmed down for the last paw. I would expect a trained groomer to be much kinder. She was using a dremel and could have easily taken her time or stopped when needed. The trim also looks very rushed and messy. As a former employee of this store I’m very disappointed.

America’s Country Store has been great to Mack and me with their boarding service! They are always willing to do whatever it takes to deal with my difficult scheduling needs. Plus, their grooming service! My old Mack goes in looking grumpy and stinky and comes out looking like a happy young pup!
