Desert Horse Adventures

This is where you should go for horseback riding! Especially as a first timer. Jennifer was knowledgeable and cracked enough jokes to make you feel comfortable from the start. The horses are well trained. As a first-timer, I felt completely safe and in tune with the horse. I did the Adventure Ride and loved it so much I ended up doing the Trail Ride later. Amazing experience and will definitely come back if I visit Yuma again!

My daughter and I absolutely loved our Colorado River trail ride with Jennifer. We went as a Christmas gift experience and it lived up to our expectations. We would highly recommend it! Getting to learn more about horses and the proper way to tack them up and prepare them for the ride was such a bonus. Jennifer is very knowledgeable and shares her wisdom generously. Riding at the river, crossing it multiple times, seeing the familiar terrain from a new vantage point was so fun for both of us. We loved having Jennifer's dogs along for the ride, as well as hearing her local knowledge of the area. Fantastic day!

I love this place! My horse was chosen especially for me. She was lovely. I learned about the history of the BLM land, some trail ride stories and I saw animal tracks! Our guide was humourous and constantly checked in with all her riders to make sure we were doing okay. Going through the water was especially fun! Great soft ground for the horses. Thanks!

Jennifer was great! It was a wonderful experience. She even provided some remedial lessons to get proficient before we headed out on the trail. Would highly recommend it. She's very flexible and communicative. I took my 8-year-old daughter and she loved it. Said it was the best day ever.

Me and my siblings got the opportunity to ride trails this week and it was AMAZING!! I have never met someone with such a vast knowledge of the horses as Miss Jennifer. The horse I rode, Joe, is my favorite horse I've ridden. You can tell the horses are very well taken care of and that Miss Jennifer loves all of her animals. Miss Jennifer not only taught us about the horses, but also the wildlife and plants that live along the trail. My siblings really enjoyed it and she made sure we were all safe and comfortable. 10/10 recommend. Thank you, Miss Jennifer, for the best riding experience I've ever had!

Me and my group of friends went on a Sunday and it was so fun. When we got there Jennifer and Mark greeted us and were super nice. Then Jennifer showed us the ponies, she showed us how to move them with the lead, how to brush them, and gave us a lot of fun facts that I found super interesting. After all that Mark made a campfire for us, and me and my friends set up a tent and chairs, then we made smores and celebrated my friends birthday day. Overall I give it a 10/10 they where both super attentive ,and even let us stay for an extra hour. It was so nice meeting Mark and Jennifer and all their pets, can’t wait to go again.😁

10/10 recommend!! Jennifer is incredible! One of us had zero riding experience and I am almost deaf. Jennifer was so accommodating and made it so that everyone was comfortable on the ride. The horses were wonderful! Seeing Yuma in such a different light was absolutely amazing! Felt like I was in Oregon Trail as we went across the river. 😂💁🏼‍♀️😍 Her family was so kind- the ranch was beautiful. Loved absolutely everything about it! If I could give her more stars I would because not only was this experience phenomenal from start to finish but at the very beginning of our ride 2 guys who decided to show up as horrendous humans that day, came flying past the horses in their jeep and when she tried to get them to slow down they literally tried to hit her and had to slam on their brakes at the last second. They were screaming obscenities at her like she was the problem. To know that she also has to deal with people like that- and risked her life for the safety of the horses shows exactly who she is. Thank you to the off duty cop and his son who witnessed it! Reminder to slow down and be kind! 🖤 If you’re looking for the adventure of a lifetime, you won’t be disappointed. 🔥☀️🐎
