Kids are in good hands especially in the hot summer months with frequent water bottle breaks, reminders for sun screen and water activities to cool off at the end of lessons. Most importantly they also learned respect for the animals and discipline in the sport by being taught and trusted to groom the horses as well as untack and care for equipment and the barn. We have been at Sunny Fox Farms and with Katherine Deichmann for many years. Our daughter has grown under Katherine’s instruction to be an accomplished equestrian. Horsemanship is a priority at Sunny Fox. Katherine cares for the horses and kids at a level we haven’t experienced at other barns. We are witnesses to these human and horse relationships everyday. Katherine is kind and patient and considerate of all humans and animals. Our horses live free, not stalled unless injured. This year our daughter qualified for pony finals. This is due in great part to Katherine. She helped us find our pony, negotiated terms and guided us through a treacherous process. And then she trained a green pony and rider all the way to a qualifying spot at Pony Finals. Kids can lesson, attend camps or be competitive. There is a program for every rider. The kid’s gain confidence, learn horsemanship and truly learn about life through these relationships. We love Katherine and our Sunny Fox family. Horse showing is one our family’s greatest joys.
